Bangalore (PTI): Amid protests over the ban on playing of live music and dancing at pubs in the city, police today raided and closed down 32 discotheques which were “operating illegally.”
The discos were operating without a legal valid license, Bangalore Police Commissioner Shankar Bidari told reporters here on Monday. (more…)

NEW DELHI: Nearly 600 foreign and national companies will participate in Aero India-2009, one of the largest international aerospace exhibitions, to be held in Bangalore next year.

International examples , though, suggest ensuring streamlined tax-collection depends more on administrative will than the model of taxation.

WASHINGTON, Aug 6 (Reuters) - Republican presidential candidate John McCain isn’t letting Paris Hilton distract him from his new line of attack — that Barack Obama is more of a celebrity than a leader.
