MUMBAI: The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET), the competitive test for getting into government technical and medical colleges, will now be conducted on May 12 instead of May 7. The state announced a change in dates on Wednesday.

“We have decided to change the exam date because the Karnataka government is also holding its entrance test on May 7,” medical education secretary Bhushan Gagrani said.

But this has compounded problems for those who have also signed up for the entrance test to BITS Pilani; one of the tests in that exam is on May 12.
