Report by Orissadiary correspondent; Bhubaneswar: The Orissa Rajya Nigam Karmachari Mahasangh allrged the step-motherly attitude of the state government in implementing the recommendations of the 6th Pay Commission for the employees of all corporations and cooperative societies in the state.

Over thousands Mahasangh members from across 33 corporations staged a demonstration here seeking fulfillment of their seven-point charter of demands. (more…)

PATNA: The Patna High Court Ministerial Officers’ Association has decided to resort to agitation after Holi festival (vacation) in protest against the state government’s decision not to pay the salary and benefits recommended by the Sixth Pay Revision Commission to them.

The state Cabinet had on December 31, 2008 decided to give new pay-scales and benefits to HC’s ministerial officers on the basis of Shetty Commission report. “The Shetty Commission report is applicable for payment of salary and benefits to the members of judicial service and superior judicial service only,” said ministerial officers’ association general secretary Kashi Nath Shukla. Jammu, Mar 3 : After being unsatisfied by replies of Finance Minister Abdul Rahim Rather to questions regarding implementation of 6th pay commission recommendations, the entire opposition walked out of the Jammu and Kashmir assembly today.

Replying to a question by the BJP and PDP MLAs – Jugal Kishore and Gaffar Sofi – during question hour, Rather said that the state government has already announced that the 6th pay panel recommendations would be implemented in the state from July one this year. (more…)

Jammu, March 3(NAK): Minister for Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Mr. Abdul Rahim Rather today said that there were several reasons for the Government to present Vote on Account in the Legislative Assembly, instead of a full-fledged budget, including the announcement of the Parliamentary Elections and the consequent enforcement of Model Code of Conduct.

Interacting with media, after presenting the Vote on Account for the first five months of the next financial year and revised estimates for the year 2008-09 in the Legislative Assembly, Mr. Rather said that in a full-fledged budget the Government would have made important announcements and come out welfare measures which, it could not do in view of the enforcement of Model Code of Conduct. He said J&K was not the only state to have presented Vote on Account as it was also done by various other states and even the Union Government in view of the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. (more…)

With the notification for the Lok Sabha elections likely to be announced shortly, the Raman Singh government in Chhattisgarh has decided to implement the recommendations of the sixth pay commission with effect from January 2006.

Briefing the media-persons after the cabinet meeting on Monday, the chief minister said that the state government will extend the benefits of the pay commission to nearly 2 lakh state government employees from January 1, 2006. (more…)

Mumbai: Kumar, a senior officer with the Indian Audit and Accounts Service, is on a high these days. Over the next few months, he expects to bring home a brand new Honda City car as his balance salary arrears under the Sixth Pay Commission are paid out.

Under the revised pay scale applicable to his post, Kumar’s take home has almost doubled. And with arrears being paid from January 1, 2006, he gets a windfall of around Rs 7 lakh over and above the monthly packet. Some 40% of the arrears were paid in October-November, last year. LUCKNOW: Even as UP Jal Nigam employees continued their hunger strike for the third consecutive day on Wednesday over delay in the implementation of sixth pay commission report, on the same issue the UP State Corporation Employees Mahasangh (UPSCEM) announced to boycott work on March 6 and threatened to go on strike if its demands were not met soon.

While the government has implemented sixth pay commission for nearly 12 lakh state employees, it has forgot to revise the scales of three lakh employees working in the corporations. Now with election code of conduct in force, it is difficult to issue any order for pay hike of employees. Government can do so only by taking special permission from the Election Commission. (more…)
