After a slew of out and out comedies like “Namastey London”, “Partner” and “Singh Is Kinng”, Katrina Kaif is now working on two “difficult” films – Prakash Jha’s political drama “Rajneeti” and Rajkumar Santoshi’s romantic comedy “Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani”- and the actress wants to devote extra time and thought to the projects.

“This year I would like to allocate time to big films. The kind of films I am doing – ‘Rajneeti’ and ‘Ajab Prem…’ are a little more difficult. They need time and also a little more thought process, ” Katrina told. The films are slated for release this year.

MUMBAI: The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET), the competitive test for getting into government technical and medical colleges, will now be conducted on May 12 instead of May 7. The state announced a change in dates on Wednesday.

“We have decided to change the exam date because the Karnataka government is also holding its entrance test on May 7,” medical education secretary Bhushan Gagrani said. (more…)

RAJKOT: Despite model code of conduct being in force, around 5,000 employees of Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) went on strike to demand immediate wage revision as per the Sixth Pay Commission recommendations.

On Monday, employees shouted slogans inside the RMC central building complex to put pressure on the ruling party, at the time of elections. According to Ramesh Cholera, vice-president of RMC Karmchari Parishad, “Initially, the employees will go on strike for two days, but the routine work of the civic body won’t be affected. Further action will be decided by the officebearers of parishad and other union.” (more…)

Bangalore: The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) Board has rescheduled the Geography 2 examination from March 25 to April 2 for Bangalore region, following confusion over opening of paper bundle.

Rumour mills were abuzz with the news that the Geography 2 paper was leaked on Monday __ two days before the exam date. (more…)

Aircel Starts Delhi Operations

Telecom major Aircel today launched its services in Delhi. Launching of services in Delhi is part of a bigger plan under which, Malaysia-based Maxis Group will invest $5 billion to roll out services in the 10 telecom circles in India including Delhi, where it is not present right now. The Group aspires to set up 3G network in India. The plan will be carried out through Aircel, Maxis Group’s vehicle in New Delhi. (more…)

A strand of bright green beads draped around the neck of one of the stewards was the only visible acknowledgement of the occasion, and all things considered it was a reasonable means of escaping the embarrassment of what has, in its American incarnation, turned into an annual puke-fest traditionally celebrated by amateur drunks.
