ARANASI: A number of junior and senior residents of the Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS), Banaras Hindu University wore black badges to show their dissent over delay in implementation of hike in their salaries as per recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission on Wednesday.

According to Dr Avinash, vice president, Resident Doctors’ Association (RDA), the decision to wear black badge was taken during the general body meeting (GBM) of the association held on Tuesday night. The resident doctors have also vowed to intensify the stir that may witness mass leave and indefinite strike if the recommendations are not implemented soon, he added.

It may be mentioned here that the letter received from Union HRD ministry has not included the names of resident doctors for implementation of the Sixth Pay Commission in BHU.
