MOM-IN-CHIEF’S FIRST LESSONS
Washington: In a bid to lead a normal family life in the White House, US First Lady Michelle Obama is believed to have banned her two daughters, Malia and Sasha, from socializing with celebrities.
Michelle Obama is “trying to keep them grounded” and insisting on no “special treatment” as they begin their new lives in the US capital,meaning “an end to hanging out with celebrities”, the US Weekly quoted family friends as saying. (more…)

The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Sunday said it was still in talks with Pakistani pacer Shoaib Akhtar for his future with the team in the Indian Premier League (IPL) second edition which will start on April 10.
Reacting to reports that the injury-prone fast bowler has been released by the Kolkata franchise, Knight Riders CEO Joy Bhattacharya on Sunday said nothing has been finalised as yet. (more…)

German luxury car manufacturer BMW has launched the all new 7-Series in the Indian car industry. It was unveiled at the BMW Studio at Janpath in Delhi. The 7-Series will be supported with three models – 730Ld, 740Li and 750Li.

Yahoo! Inc., owner of the second most popular search engine in the US, will close an online storage service called Briefcase as the company sheds some operations.
Briefcase, introduced almost 10 years ago, will shut on March 30 and users must download or delete files by then, the company said on its website. Yahoo! customers were already shifting to other services, such as its e-mail program or the Flickr photo site, to store files online, the company said. (more…)

Lucknow: By 2025 an Indian might unfurl the national flag on the lunar surface. ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) has a plan to send an Indian to space by an indigenously developed space craft by 2015.
“If the mission gets successful, there will be an Indian flag on the moon’s surface by 2025,” said SK Shivakumar, director, ISRO Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC), Bangalore, on Saturday. Shivakumar was delivering a lecture at the regional science centre on `Chandrayaan’ mission as part of the on-going Science Expo-2009. (more…)

Despita churning out a flop out of her martial-arts-flair in the flop ‘Chandni Chowk To China’, Deepika has managed to get the attention that is the stepping stone to success in the glamour world. Iron Maiden are a British heavy metal band founded in 1975 by bassist and only original member Steve Harris. The band has released fourteen studio albums, as well as numerous live albums, compilations, EPs, singles, video albums, music videos, and box sets. After several auditions and lineup changes, they settled on vocalist Paul Di’Anno, guitarists Dave Murray and Dennis Stratton and drummer Clive Burr. They released their self-titled debut album in 1980; quickly becoming one of the leading proponents of the NWOBHM movement. Guitarist Adrian Smith replaced Stratton, and a “consistent highlight”, Killers, was released in 1981. (more…)
