Successful people don’t hate what they do. You can have fun as you pursue your profession. As Mark Twain had once said, “The secret of success is making your vocation your vacation.” Here’s how you can make your work fun:

Try to talk to people who benefit from your work. The more valuable you realise your service is, the happier you’ll feel about providing it to them. This realisation will make all the difference to make you feel good.

Talk to your boss about how you can add to your job by adding and taking on certain new responsibilities.

Try to innovate. Invent new products and services.

Bring the same curiosity to your work as you do to your hobbies and personal interests.

Open your ears and eyes to the comic events happening around and laugh at yourself or laugh at disaster, not at others.

Post a witty saying in your office or in a public place where others can read it and laugh.

Upgrade your computer and invest in technical wizardry.

Enroll in a seminar. The objective should be to make you feel more empowered and upbeat and goal-oriented. Keep a work journal or diary. Record your successes and failures. Whenever you are feeling low, reading the earlier entries will give you insight into your current problems. TNN
