Ranchi, Jan. 25: Parents, for the first time in the city, have formed an organisation today to protest against “exorbitant” school fees that they have to pay from the next academic year.

Jalandhar, Jan 24 (PTI) Punjab government would soon implement recommendations of 6th pay commission and the proposal to increase the age of retirement of its employees from 58 to 60 would be put up before the state cabinet, Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal said today.
“Yes, the proposal for increasing the retirement age is very much under consideration”, Badal told reporters when asked about his comments on the issue. (more…)

Do you think Ellen will pop up on your show?

Portia: I think there is more chance of me popping up on her show. Unfortunately, I say unfortunately because it seems like a very awkward kind of interview. She will make it flawless. I am happy to talk about the show, so I am happy to go on her show and talk about it, I just hope she won’t ask any personal questions. That is off limits.

But she knows all the answers?

Portia: No, she doesn’t. (laughs)

What are you going to do for your wedding anniversary [August 17]?

Portia: It is going to be something that I can do for Ellen, because she took care of the anniversary of us being together last year and it was amazing. I want to do something special, so if you have any ideas, let me know. (more…)

Katie Stam Crowned Winner of Miss America 2009.

Miss Indiana, 22-year-old Katie Stam has been crowned winner of Miss America 2009.

“That beauty that you feel on the inside, it’s that confidence, that radiance inside of you, that’s what glamor is,” Stam said.

Katie Stam is a communications major at the University of Indianapolis, and is an aspiring weather girl broadcaster, having interned at two Indianapolis TV stations. (more…)
