ALLAHABAD: Feeling of elation has gripped the employees of Allahabad Municipal Corporation authorities following the state government decision that the employees of local bodies would be incorporated in the beneficiaries of sixth pay commission. Besides, the office bearers have welcomed the decision of the state government.

Hailing the decision, Rajendra Paliwal, secretary of Allahabad Nagar Nigam Karmachari Association said, “We would like to extend our gratefulness to UP chief minister Mayawati for including the employees of local bodies among the beneficiaries of sixth pay commission.” He said that though the wages of the municipal corporations employees were low seeing the present high prices of essential commodities but with the implementation of sixth pay commission they would now get upgraded salaries. He also said that the chief minister should also look at the other demands of the Allahabad Municipal Corporation.

Peer Muhammad of Allahabad Nagar Nigam Karmachari Association said, “We demand that the Mayawati should compassionately look at the other demands of the local bodies employees.” He said that a delegation of the local bodies union would meet the administrative authorities at Lucknow in February and would raise demand of solving their grievances. They have demanded for regularising the services of the daily wage workers rendering their services in the local bodies.
