Jammu , Jan 28 Work was paralysed in government offices across Jammu today due to a strike by employees to demand immediate implementation of sixth pay commission recommendations.

Government employees, including those in civil secretariat, did not attend work today in response to the strike called by Jammu and Kashmir Employees Joint Action Committee (JKEJAC), official sources said.

The demands of the committee include enhancement of retirement age from 58 to 60, regularisation of daily wagers, enhancement of daily rate and removal of pay anomalies.

JKEJAC president Abdul Qayoom Wani said the employees were forced to go on strike due to government&aposs failure to implement the sixth pay panel recommendations.

The committee has also organised a rally in the city today to pressurise the government to accept their demands.
