Srinagar, Jan 27 Supporting the demand of government employees for implementation of the 6th pay commission, opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today asked Jammu and Kashmir government to implement the recommendations without any delay.

“All political parties are committed to implementation of the 6th Pay Commission recommendations in favour of the state government employees and the same must be implemented without any further delay to avoid any confrontation on the issue”, a PDP spokesman said in a statement here today.

He said delaying the implementation of the recommendations would neither serve the purpose of the government nor the employees.

Expressing solidarity with the employees, the spokesman said PDP would always support their genuine demands to ensure better performance and delivery of services by the employees.

The employees have called a one-day strike tomorrow to press for implementation of the pay panel report in the state.

The National Conference-Congress coalition government has agreed to implement the recommendations but sought time to look for resources to implement the same.
