HYDERABAD: Paramedics, nursing and administerial staff of the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (Nims) continued their strike on the second day. The over 1,500 employees have been demanding implementation of the Sixth Pay Revision Commission recommendations.
On Sunday, nearly 400 employees sat on a dharna demanding pay revision. The strike which started on January 24, crippled medical services at the hospital. No diagnostic services were taken up.
“The management asked us to join our duties. They said that after the chief minister comes back from tour, the matter will be discussed. However, we will not relent,” Joint Action Committee, convener G Girija Manohar said.
However, the strike impact was not much on Sunday, but on Monday patients are likely to suffer as services will be hit.
