New Delhi, Jan 1 (ANI): As a New Year gift for the armed forces, the Indian Government has decided to create a separate pay commission for the armed forces.

The government granted the demand for placing 12,000 Lieutenant Colonels and their equivalents in Navy and Air Force in pay band four of the Sixth Central Pay Commission.

Sources have said that the armed forces personnel would have a separate pay commission, which will not be linked with the civilian pay panel.

The Prime Minister’s Office has already sent its directions on this matter to the Defence Ministry. (ANI)
