Kochi (PTI): A Karnataka girl has been crowned Miss South India 2008.
While Dimple bagged the title, Meghana, also from Karnataka, was adjudged first runner-up and Akansha from Andhra Pradesh second runner-up at a glittering function organised in Kochi on Tuesday by Peagasus, a release said.
Dimple also won the ‘Miss Beautiful smile’ title. Ashwini from Karnataka was declared ‘Miss Beautiful Hair’ and Akansha ‘Miss Congeniality’. Meghna was declared as ‘Miss Peoples choice’.
The event was judged by renowned personalities from the fashion and film industries.
Actress Jyothirmayi, Cinematographer Anbumani, Fashion Designer, Harianad and Sheela Kochouseph and Managing Director of V-Star were members of the judging panel.
The programme started with a tribute to the bravehearts who lost their lives in the Mumbai terror attacks.
Twelve contestants participated in the final event.
