Mumbai, Jan 2 Budget air-carrier IndiGo would offer Re 1-Rs 99 base air fare across most of its sectors from today, but the fares would still be not less than Rs 2,926 for a Delhi- Mumbai flight.
The offer would be subjet to the condition that booking should be done 21-days prior to the journey. (more…)

New Delhi, Jan 1 (ANI): As a New Year gift for the armed forces, the Indian Government has decided to create a separate pay commission for the armed forces.
The government granted the demand for placing 12,000 Lieutenant Colonels and their equivalents in Navy and Air Force in pay band four of the Sixth Central Pay Commission. (more…)

New Delhi, Jan 2 (PTI) Government today decided to bring an ordinance for hiking salaries of Chief Justice of India, judges of the Supreme Court, Chief Justices and judges of High Courts.
The decision to promulgate an ordinance was taken at a meeting of the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. (more…)

Lucknow: Around 5,000 doctors of the Provincial Medical and Health Service of Uttar Pra-desh came to work on Thursday wearing black ribbons.
They were demanding an increase in salary at par with the Central Government doctors under the Sixth Pay Commission. Apart from overall revision of the pay package, they also demanded an increase in postmortem charges, which at present is Rs 10. (more…)

LUCKNOW: There was confusion, mayhem and chaos at the Vidha Sabha Marg and its surrounding areas, bringing traffic to a grinding halt when thousands of teachers and state employees converged on the busy Hazratganj area and held a massive demonstration and later took out a procession in support of their demands. PATNA: The state government on Thursday held talks with trade union leaders regarding implementation of new payscales in accordance with recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission.
Sharing the meeting details, principal secretary finance, Navin Kumar said that the issue of merger of three payscales starting with Rs 5,000, 5,500 and 6,500 was discussed threadbare and employees’ leaders were asked to suggest ways for deciding the seniority of employees at supervisory level in case their demand of merging the three scales was agreed upon. PANAJI: States will ask the Centre to bear 50% impact of implementation of the sixth pay commission, said chief minister Digambar Kamat.
Speaking to mediapersons during an informal address on Wednesday, Kamat said that an empowered committee of finance ministers of all states has been formed. “This committee met in Delhi and has decided to request the Centre to bear 50% of the implementation of the sixth pay commission recommendations.” (more…)
