CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said that the revised pay scales according to the recommendations of sixth pay commission to all State Government employees would be implemented from January 2006. What we need are gifts that can sustain us for the coming year of misery and keep our minds off the dwindling value of our pensions. So what about a constant drip-feed of culture throughout the year? Membership to an institution such as the Tate or the National Theatre is a great gift for someone who loves the arts. Or you could enrol them on a carefully chosen course, such as the Contemporary Collecting course at the Whitechapel Gallery. NEW DELHI: IGNOU has set up 650 centres across the country, including 15 in various jails, for its ensuing ‘term-end examination’ beginning December 1.
“More than 2.73 lakh candidates will appear for the examinations,” IGNOU spokesperson Ravi Mohan said.
“We have also established 15 examination centres in jails for inmates who have enrolled to our various undergraduate courses,” he said. (more…)
