New Delhi, Oct 31: The government finances are deteriorating as the revenue deficit at the end of the first half has gone up to 78,313 crore, which is almost 142 percent of the Budget estimate for the entire year, reveals the data released by Controller General of Accounts (CGA).
The revenue deficit, the difference between the revenue receipts and current expenditure, was estimated at Rs 55,184 crore for the entire year. (more…)
new delhi : Nearly 180 interns of Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC) practicing at Lok Nayak Hospital went on an indefinite strike on Thursday demanding revision of salary. Chandigarh, Nov 3 (IANS) Finance ministers of various states Monday urged the central government to bear half their additional financial burden, caused by the Sixth Pay Commission recommendations.
‘The union government should come forward to minimise the impact of its Sixth Pay Commission (recommendations). At least 50 percent of the additional financial burden on the states due to this should be borne by the government of India,’ Punjab Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal told reporters after a meeting of the empowered committee of state finance ministers here.
