Sixth Pay Commission: Employees demand implementation of sixth pay commission

Puducherry: The Sixth Pay Commission recommendations has created problem for the Puducherry administration, as different sections of the Government employees started stir on the issue, demanding early implementation of the recommendations.

However, a one-man commission was constituted by the administration to look into the issues. The Governemnt teachers on a sit-in-strike for the last six days, were disrupting classes in all government schools and were planning to go on a mass casual leave tomorrow.

The teachers would resort to a dharna in front of the Chief Secretariat and observe fast before the education department.

The nurses, who had boycotted their duty for two hours and held a demonstration in front of the Government General Hospital, had warned of intensifying their agitation.

The daily-wagers and part-time employees of the Territorial Administration today held a demonstration for implementation of the recommendations. The employees of the Krishi Vigayan Kendra(KVK) would also resort to a dharna to press their demand.
