BANGALORE: The IT capital Bangalore and rest of Karnataka appears to be heading for fuel shortage following inability by oil companies to supply sufficient quantity of oil.

“There is fuel shortage and the situation might get worse in another one week to 15 days”, says Bhushan Narang, President, Bangalore Dealers Association and Akhila Karnataka Petroleum Dealers Association.

Currently, several consumers in the city were unable to fill their vehicles with regular petrol/diesel with several bunks stating that there were running out of stocks. Many consumers were forced to buy premium products owing to the unavailability of the regular petrol/diesel.

“Right now, there is a shortage of regular petrol/diesel but in the coming week or another 15 days, we might even run out of premium products”, he said.

Stating that the shortage was not only restricted to Bangalore but all over the state, he said the situtation could alter only if fuel prices are revised.
