NEW DELHI: Delhi may have managed to score a high of only 97% in English in the Class XII CBSE exams, but at St Stephen’s, applicants from the commerce stream need 98% to qualify for the English (Hons) course. The college, which came out with the cut-off list late on Tuesday, has hiked the marks almost uniformly across all the courses by 1-2%.
But other colleges say this is the result of the hike in the Christian quota in the college which has reduced the number of seats in the general category and that the increase generally may be marginal. (more…)

MUMBAI: In keeping with the trend in recent years, HSC students again jostled for space on the first merit list to a number of south Mumbai colleges, as their peers from other national boards like CBSE and ISC as also international boards like IB, beat them hollow. The first list for all senior colleges affiliated to Mumbai University was out on Monday evening.
Fifty percent of students who made it to HR College’s general merit list for premium courses such as Bachelor of Management Studies and Bachelor in Accountancy and Finance are from boards other than HSC. These courses have only 60 seats each. (more…)
