Marilyn Monroe’s most prized possessions will be sold at two separate auctions in the U.S on Monday.

The late screen legend’s clothing, furniture and private documents will be sold at Bonhams and Butterfields’ auction in Los Angeles and Julien’s Auctions in Las Vegas.

Experts believe the double bill is the most significant bonanza of Monroe memorabilia since Christie’s New York sold off items from Monroe’s estate in 1999, raising a whopping $13.5 million. And Darren Julien, head of Julien’s Auctions, predicts the items will raise a lot of money. (more…)

OXFORD: The University of Oxford on Monday expressed its keenness to enrol more students from India on its campuses. “We are keen to increase the number of students from India,” said Chancellor Chris Patten. He was speaking at a conference on globalisation here which was attended by Commerce and Industry Minister Kamal Nath.

The conference was jointly organised by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and the Said Business School. (more…)
