It was an emotional homecoming like none other for superstar Amitabh Bachchan as he took a walk down memory lane at the insitution which he says taught him life’s greatest lessons in life.

The year 1950 Nainital’s Sherwood College welcomed a shy eight year old student – the student who made his debut on stage here and went on to rule the silver screen.

Big B returned to his alma mater Sherwood College in Nainital after almost after 50 years to celeberate his school’s founder’s day.

Amidst tight security, cheering fans and proud students and ex students an emotional Amitabh once again tread a very familiar path back to his old school.

The first stop for him was the school auditoirum – Millman Hall – where young Amitabh made his stage debut and went on to win the best actor trophy.

Chris Brixworth his former classmate who had acted in several plays with Amitabh Bachchan has been following his friend’s illustrious career closely from London. “He always had the making of a star,” said Brixworth about his old friend.

While there were others who were suprised at the success of the unassuming back-bencher. “I was his captain and Amitabh used to sit at the back,” said his classmate Sohan Vir Singh.

As Big B reconnected with old friends in the school’s gymnasium, the man we all know as the phenomenon was a 15 year old once again.
