Bangalore: The slowdown in the IT industry that drives business for other sectors and the fluctuating dollar have had an impact on the hotel industry in Bangalore. If indications are to be believed, hotels in the city have been witnessing a softening of rates in the past few months. The average room rates (ARR) have come down by at least five per cent. (more…)

Anxious wait of thousands of Class X students finally ended on Thursday with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announcing their results, which registered a pass percentage of 87.08 per cent.

Girls outshone boys yet again in the examinations with an impressive pass percentage of 87.96 per cent. Boys’ pass percentage was 86.46 per cent.

Out of the six exam regions, Chennai topped the list of pass percentage with 95.26 per cent followed by Ajmer (94.22 per cent), Allahabad (89.10), Panchkula (89.07), Delhi (82.87) and Guwahati (57.29).

A total of 7,65,095 candidates, including 4,49,742 boys, had registered for the exam held in March this year. (more…)

New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the Class 10 board examination results Thursday.

Scores of students were seen at Internet cafes and calling dedicated telephone numbers to know how they had fared in the examination soon after the results were declared at 8 am (more…)
