The Budweiser Cup pledges to provide amateur football players an once-in-a-lifetime chance to live their dream that they have been fostering ever since they got the sense of football for the first time. And for the 72 players who participated in the competition in Bangalore on Saturday, they certainly were doing that: living their dreams.

The matches commenced at half past eight in the morning with all the twelve teams participating in the competition grooving to wrestle with fate and charge forward like the Light Brigade.

Quite a number of spectators had swarmed to the famous RSI Grounds at MG Road right from the start and as the day progressed, several others joined in the fun.   The twelve participating teams had been divided into four groups: A, B, C and D. There were three teams each in the first three groups (A1, A2, A3, B1, B2, B3, C1, C2, C3) and two in group D (D1, D2).

Amitabh_Bachchan

Recently Amitabh Bachchan shot a promo for the finale of Star Plus’ Chhote Ustaad with the two finalists-Aishwarya Majmudar and Anwesha Dattagupta. AB was in excellent mood, chatted with the girls and put them at ease immediately when he was introduced to them. He jokingly kept telling the camera person, “These are the stars of today, hum to junior artiste hai”. He noticed that Aishwarya was wearing a shirt too large for her size, he immediately adjusted her collar and said, “Ye mera shirt aapko kisne de diya”. He congratulated them on being the first two women finalists on a reality show in India. He also wished them luck to walk to final mile.

Salman_Khan_and_Katrina_Kaif

Mumbai: Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif better known as Bollywood’s bold and beautiful couple are still very much together and in love.

The latest buzz of the couple heading for splitsville is nothing more than just another tiny rumour of the tinsel town. The news of Salman allegedly slapping Katrina in public at a Mumbai restaurant, followed a series of unconfirmed reports of the actor seeing another woman and Katrina going apartment hunting.

Though Salman decided not to comment on the subject, Katrina snubbed aside the slapping incident as just a silly rumour. But then again, the actor’s absence for the premiere of Katrina starrer ‘Race’ sparked further speculations.

But wait… do not arrive at conclusions so fast. We are told that Salman had a very strong reason for not being present at the premier. The actor was not in India, as he was busy shooting for his upcoming flick ‘Wanted Dead or Alive’. Though he was not present at the premier his entire family went to show their support and admiration for their potential bahu rani…

Airtel yesterday announced the launch of “airtellive.com”, claimed to be an all-in-one Internet portal for its customers. This makes the company the first telco in the country to launch such a portal, it said.

The portal is looked upon as a milestone for Airtel; it builds upon the existing Broadband ecosystem to establish an Internet destination for Web applications, said Atul Bindal, president of Airtel Telemedia Services during the launch.

Airtel’s move is expected to give its customers easy access to Google’s simple yet powerful applications over the company’s fast and reliable Broadband network. At “airtellive.com”, Airtel customers will can access — for free — Google’s Applications messaging and collaboration Suite that includes email services, Google documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. Services are co-branded and powered by Google and Airtel Broadband. Bhaichung Bhutia

BHUTIA BOYCOTT: Bhutia conveyed his decision to the Indian Olympic Association on Monday.

New Delhi: Indian football captain Baichung Bhutia has refused to carry the Olympic torch when it reaches New Delhi on April 17.

Bhutia conveyed his decision to the Indian Olympic Association on Monday after he was chosen to run with the Olympic torch on the India leg of its journey.

Bhutia, a Buddhist, said this was his way to show support and solidarity for the people of Tibet and their struggle.

He is not the first public personality to have distanced himself from the Beijing Olympics.
Last week, French President Nicolas Sarkozy had indicated France might boycott the games if the situation in Tibet worsened while German Chancellor Angela Merkel has said she will not attend the Olympics in Beijing.
