The biggest night in this season of “American Idol” is now larger than ever.
The two-night grand finale of “American Idol” is moving to the brand new Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, where the remaining two finalists will take the stage to an audience of over 7000 people.
On Tuesday, May 20, millions around the world will watch the final performances, and the following night, Ryan Seacrest will name one person the newest “American Idol.”
The Tuesday night show will run for one hour, and the results night on Wednesday will span two. Both shows will air in Canada on CTV.
The singing competition is currently in its seventh season. Previous winners include Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and Jordin Sparks.
The 2008 Emmy Awards have also moved to the Nokia Theatre, with the 60th annual awards show set to fill the auditorium on Sept. 21. The stage opened its doors in October 2007.
There are currently 11 finalists remaining in this year’s “American Idol” competition.
