REPRESENTATIVE Bobby Jindal is the first Indian American to be elected Governor, in USA.  He lost to Blanco in 2003.  The latter did not seek re-election since she did nothing while the people of Louisiana suffered the ravaging effects of hurricanes.

In the elections for Governor of Louisiana, Representative Bobby Jindal whose parents immigrated to the USA from India] became the first Indian American to be elected Governor.  He also became the youngest [36 years of age] and the first from outside of the traditional establishment to be elected.  Mr. Jindal obtained 53% with almost 625,000 votes in 92% of the votes counted. This confirms his victory and avoidance of a run-off.

Sansa TakeTV lets users play video from their computers through a TV’s standard A/V socket.

SanDisk on Monday launched a PC-to-TV video player that lets users download content from a USB port, and then carry the files over to a living room television for playback through standard audio/video sockets. In addition, SanDisk also unveiled a video download site called Fanfare which would compete with Apple’s iTunes music and video store.
SanDisk is calling the device Sansa TakeTV, and claims that it’s a simpler alternative to setting up a wireless network, running wires across a living room, or burning video on a DVD. “Sansa TakeTV is the most easy-to-use, straightforward solution for watching downloaded personal video content and other shows in the comfort of the living room,” Daniel Schreiber, senior VP and general manager for SanDisk’s audio/video business unit, said in a statement.

Kareena-Shahid

They say there is no such thing as bad publicity. And the recent hullabaloo over Kareena Kapoor-Shahid Kapur’s now-over relationship is ample proof of that.

And by default, their film, Jab We Met is also getting its share of publicity.

Now that the two have finally called it quits, we can’t help but wonder if the film is going to bear the brunt of their breakup. Will it or won’t it, that’s the question.

Guiter

GUWAHATI: – They have done it before. They are doing it again. But unlike last time when they scripted the world record with the largest drum ensemble, this time though, there will be a visible threat percept on the anvil coming all the way from London when around 2000-odd guitarists would be strumming its way towards setting another world record by assembling in the largest guitar contingent ever. For, within a week’s time, guitarists under Guitar Trade Fair in London will vie to outmaneuver it again.

On October 26, when a band of more than 2,000 guitarists will perform a record-breaking strumming session at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Shillong to outnumber the current Guinness Book of World Records’ guitar ensemble of 1,721, guitarists from across the globe, especially London, will keep a close eye on it.
